MISH: In The Schools
Bringing World-Class Music Education to Somerset County
MISH in the Schools is a signature outreach program from Music in the Somerset Hills designed to enrich public high school choral programs throughout Somerset County—at absolutely no cost to schools or districts.
Our Mission
We believe that exceptional musical experiences should be accessible to all students. Our mission is to supplement existing choral programs by connecting talented young musicians with world-class performers, conductors, and composers, creating meaningful artistic partnerships that inspire and elevate student musicianship.

Getting to share my passion of singing with this highly praised, admirable and talented group was such an incredible experience that I will forever cherish through the rest of my musical journey.

Collaborating with the Whiffenpoofs was an inspiring experience! It was a great opportunity to learn from some of the best musicians and help us grow as singers ourselves.

It was fun to see what A Cappella would be like in college! Their spirit and positive energy makes me excited for my own college experience next year.

I just want to email you and say thank you for this wonderful opportunity to sing with the Yale Whiffenpoofs! I had so much fun and I’m glad I went!!
Emma, Ridge High School Chorus Member
We can't thank MISH enough for setting up the wonderful collaboration with the Whiffenpoofs. So often we have to pay clinicians and guests a lot of money and therefore we are limited on the amount of experiences our singers can be exposed to. Having this all set up so neatly with the guests, facilities, and behind the scenes work like tickets and programs, made this so easy and user friendly for our program. The students had a blast, and as their director, I was grateful for an easy and meaningful experience.

Our Approach
We understand that high school music educators already manage full schedules and complex demands. Our initiative is designed not to add work, but to complement and enhance your existing program. Our team handles the logistics, allowing directors and students to focus entirely on the musical experience.
Our Impact
Launched in 2025 with pilot programs at Ridge High School and Somerville High School, MISH in the Schools is now expanding to serve all public high schools throughout Somerset County. Our initial collaborations have already demonstrated how these partnerships can inspire students, strengthen school music programs, and build lasting connections within our musical community.
