This year, MISH’s annual gala will take place on Saturday, June 18, at the magnificent Ross Farm in Basking Ridge. It will be a showcase for the Somerset Hills Chorus, featuring an outdoor performance of Carl Orff’s thrilling cantata, Carmina Burana

It is said that Carmina Burana is the most frequently performed choral work of the 21st century. We will perform the popular  arrangement for two pianos, percussion, three virtuosic vocal soloists, and a large chorus.

We plan to begin Monday night rehearsals on April 18 and continue them through the week of the performance. With luck, our timing will coincide with the withdrawal of COVID restrictions, but I can assure you that we will observe any protocols that are still in effect at the time. If you’ve been itching for an opportunity to get back into singing, then this is the performance you’ve been waiting for!

2019 Downtown Voices performance of Carmina Burana arranged for two pianos, percussion, three virtuosic vocal soloists, and a large chorus. Several members of Downtown Voices—and some of the same remarkable soloists and instrumentalists—will join the SHC for the performance in June 2022.
