As we gear up to announce our 2024 scholarship winners, we wanted to take the opportunity to shine a spotlight on one of our many distinguished Alumni!
Madelin Morales
Cuban-American mezzo-soprano Madelin Morales, one of our 2019 scholarship winners, went on to receive her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the Eastman School of Music in May 2023, where she also received an Arts Leadership Certificate and a business minor from the University of Rochester.
Recent operatic roles include: Paula (Florencia en el Amazonas), Mercédès (Carmen), Oberto (Alcina), and Taller Daughter (Proving Up). Madelin is a 2023 Winner of the Schmidt Undergraduate Vocal Competition and received First Place at the 2021 NATS National Competition. She is also a YoungArts winner, and a 2019 U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts, where she was among 20 other graduating seniors awarded for their academic, personal, and musical achievements.
In 2023, Madelin spent her summer in Santa Barbara, where she was a Lehrer Fellow at Music Academy of the West. This summer, she looks forward to being a Vocal Fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center.
Madelin currently works at Lincoln Center as an Executive Office Intern. This fall, Madelin will be joining Bard College Conservatory’s Graduate Vocal Arts Program, under the tutelage of Stephanie Blythe, to pursue a Master’s of Music in Vocal Performance.
